Crossposting
Delisting and auto-delist
Take listings down by hand, or automatically once the item sells somewhere.
The cleanup after a sale. An item sells on one marketplace and is still live on three others; whoever buys one of those copies buys something you no longer have, and every marketplace punishes the seller for the cancellation that follows.
Delisting by hand
Open the item, choose the marketplaces, press Delist.
Like crossposting, each becomes a job — server-side for eBay and Discogs, through the extension for Mercari, Depop and Vinted.
Delisting removes the listing from the marketplace. It does not delete the item from your Reskale inventory, so you keep the record, the photos and the history, and can relist later.
Auto-Delist
Auto-Delist (open) is the purpose-built version: it finds the items that sold somewhere and are still live somewhere else, and offers to pull the leftovers.
It reads the same 90-day window of sales the Sales ledger reads, through the same loader, so the two screens can never disagree about what sold.
Using it
- Open Auto-Delist.
- Press Sync to refresh both halves of the picture — what sold, and what is still up. Both have to be current or the sweep is working from stale data.
- Review the list. Each row is a sale plus the sibling listings still live.
- Delist the ones you want.
It now acts on the safest rows by itself
Every time Reskale finds a new sale — the extension checks every 15 minutes, and marking something sold by hand counts too — it looks for the same item still live elsewhere and queues those listings to come down. You do not have to open this page for it to happen.
It only does that for rows where it is certain. A listing is taken down automatically when all of these are true:
- the sale is linked to the stock item by its id, not by a matching title,
- the item is single-quantity as far as we can tell,
- you have not told Reskale to leave that item alone,
- the marketplace is one Reskale can act on.
Everything else stays on this page, exactly as before, waiting for you.
If an item is one whose other listings are meant to stay up, open its row and choose Stop suggesting this. That now also stops the automatic delist, so the answer sticks.
Last checked
Reskale can only notice a sale on a marketplace it has actually looked at, and for Mercari, Depop and Vinted that means Chrome was open with the extension installed. Each marketplace shows when it was last genuinely checked. "Vinted not checked since Tuesday" means exactly that — automatic delisting has not been running for Vinted, and the list below may be out of date.
It is never a guess. A sync that failed leaves the previous time in place rather than pretending it ran.
What it will not do on its own
Some rows are flagged rather than acted on:
- Multi-quantity listings. You sold one of five. Delisting the siblings would be wrong — you still have four. Reskale flags these and leaves the decision to you.
- Items it cannot match confidently. If it is not certain two listings are the same physical item, it declines rather than guessing. Delisting the wrong listing is worse than delisting nothing.
Why matching sometimes fails
Auto-delist can only connect a sale to its siblings if Reskale knows they are the same item. That link comes from the item record — one item, several listings.
Two records for one physical thing means no link, and no sweep. This happens when the same item was imported separately from two marketplaces.
Inventory → Duplicates merges those pairs. Worth running after any large import — see import your listings.
Marketplace-specific behaviour
Marketplaces do not offer the same operation, and the differences matter:
- eBay — the listing is ended through the API. Clean and immediate.
- Mercari — the listing is deactivated, not deleted. It can be reactivated later. Note that a blind toggle re-lists an inactive listing, so the state is checked first rather than flipped.
- Depop — the listing is deleted through the API. This is permanent; there is no undo on Depop's side.
- Vinted — the listing is hidden rather than deleted, using Vinted's own Hide control. Hidden listings can be unhidden in Vinted.
- Discogs — the inventory listing is removed.
Because Depop is a genuine delete and the others are reversible, be more deliberate about Depop.
Delisting in bulk
Select items, choose marketplaces, Delist. Same selection model as bulk crossposting.
Use this for clearing out a category or a season. For the "it sold, pull the rest" case, Auto-Delist is better — it identifies the affected items instead of making you remember which ones.
When a delist fails
The usual causes:
- The listing is already gone. Ended on the marketplace, or delisted elsewhere. Harmless — mark it not listed.
- Connection expired. Reconnect and retry.
- Extension not responding. Reload the Reskale tab, check the extension is enabled.
- The marketplace is refusing. Some will not let you end a listing with an active order or offer on it. Resolve that first.
If a listing is gone on the marketplace but Reskale still shows it as live, use Mark as not listed on the item to correct the record.
Marking sold manually
Sold something in person, or on a marketplace Reskale does not support? Use Mark as sold on the item.
This records the sale and makes the item's other listings eligible for the auto-delist sweep — which is the point. A cash sale at a flea market still leaves four live listings for an item that is gone.
