Crossposting
Creating a listing
Build a listing once in Reskale and choose where it goes.
Building a listing from scratch, for an item that is not live anywhere yet.
Crosspost → Create (open).
Fill the item once
The create form collects everything true about the item, independent of where it will be sold. Fill it well and every marketplace copy benefits; fill it thinly and you will be answering the same questions again per marketplace.
Photos
Add them in the order you want buyers to see them — the first is the thumbnail everywhere.
Practical limits worth knowing before you upload twenty:
- Marketplaces cap photo counts differently. If you exceed a cap, Reskale sends the first N in your order, which is why the order matters.
- Shoot square or close to it. Marketplaces crop to different aspect ratios and a square original survives all of them.
- Photos are reused as-is. Reskale does not edit, enhance or watermark.
Title
Write it for the strictest marketplace and it works everywhere. Title limits vary by roughly a factor of two across the marketplaces Reskale supports, and a title that overflows gets truncated — usually mid-word, usually somewhere unhelpful.
Front-load the identifying words: brand, item, size. If a buyer only sees the first forty characters, they should still know what it is.
Description
Plain text travels best. Some marketplaces strip HTML, some render it, and one that strips it will leave your markup visible as literal characters.
Include measurements, flaws and anything a returns dispute would hinge on. Cross-marketplace, the description is the only field guaranteed to survive intact everywhere.
Condition
Pick honestly. Reskale maps your choice onto each marketplace's own vocabulary, and the map is conservative — it will not upgrade "good" to "excellent" to make a listing more attractive, because that is the seller's returns problem later.
Note flaws in the description too. Condition is a dropdown; a stain is not.
Price
Set the price you want on your primary marketplace. Fee structures differ, so the same number nets differently everywhere — the sales ledger shows what you actually kept once fees land.
You can adjust the price per marketplace on the crosspost form before submitting.
Brand, size and category
The three fields that cause the most rejections.
- Brand — spell it as the marketplace does. Some require a match against their own list.
- Size — enter it in your normal system; Reskale converts. Required on fashion categories nearly everywhere.
- Category — Reskale suggests one. Confirm it. Most other requirements are derived from it, so a wrong category produces a confusing cascade of unrelated-looking errors.
Detail: categories, brands and sizes.
Packaging
Weight and dimensions. Required for shipping quotes on most marketplaces, and wrong numbers here mean you eat the difference on postage.
Enter the packed weight — item plus box plus filler — not the item on its own.
Choose where it goes
Tick the marketplaces. Each shows its own panel with anything it needs that the item does not already provide.
Fields missing for a marketplace are flagged before submission. That check is the point: it is much better to be told now, in one screen, than to have four jobs fail one at a time.
Save as draft
Save draft keeps the item without posting anything. Useful when you have photographed a batch and want to write them up before deciding where each goes.
Drafts live in Inventory and can be crossposted later.
Submit
Crosspost creates one job per marketplace. They run independently: one failing does not stop the others.
Track them on the Crosspost screen — jobs, statuses and retries.
After it is live
The item now has listings attached. From here you can:
- Crosspost to more marketplaces later, without re-entering anything — crossposting an existing item.
- Delist from one or all — delisting.
- Watch for the sale, which is where auto-delist earns its keep.
