Getting started
Connect your marketplaces
Link eBay, Mercari, Depop, Vinted and Discogs, and keep those connections healthy.
A connection is what lets Reskale read your sales and act on your listings. Everything else in the app depends on having at least one.
Connections live at Settings → Connections (open).
Two kinds of connection
Which one you get depends on whether the marketplace publishes an API.
OAuth — eBay and Discogs. You press Connect, the marketplace shows you its own consent screen, you approve, and it hands Reskale a token. Reskale never sees your password. These connections are the most durable; they survive you logging out of your browser, and they last until you revoke them.
Session — Mercari, Depop and Vinted. These have no API to ask permission from. You log in on their site as normal, and Reskale uses the session your own browser already holds, via the extension. These are more fragile: logging out, changing your password, or the marketplace expiring the session all end them. Expect to reconnect these occasionally.
Connect each one
eBay
Press Connect and approve on eBay's consent screen. You will be returned to Reskale with a green badge.
If you use eBay business policies for shipping, payment and returns, Reskale picks them up automatically. See eBay.
Mercari, Depop, Vinted
- Open the marketplace in another tab of the same browser and log in.
- Come back to Connections and press Connect.
The extension reads the session from that browser. If you are not logged in, the connect attempt fails with a message telling you so — the fix is to log in and press Connect again.
Discogs
Press Connect and approve on Discogs. OAuth, same as eBay.
Discogs is only useful if you have a seller account with inventory. See Discogs.
Poshmark
Not offered. Poshmark suspends seller accounts for automated activity, and every feature here would qualify. Existing Poshmark sales and records stay visible and are unaffected. The full reasoning is in Poshmark.
Reading the status
| Badge | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | Working. | Nothing. |
| Expired | Reskale has a credential but the marketplace rejected it. | Log in to the marketplace, then press Connect again. |
| Disconnected | No credential stored. | Press Connect. |
| Checking | A test request is in flight. | Wait a moment. |
An expired connection does not delete anything. Your synced sales, listings and history stay exactly as they were; only new activity stops arriving until you reconnect.
Testing a connection
Press Test to make one live request against the marketplace. This tells you whether the credential works right now, which is more useful than the badge when you are chasing a sync problem — the badge reflects the last sync, and the last sync may have been hours ago.
How often connections break
Session connections expire. This is normal and not a bug:
- Mercari and Depop typically last weeks if you stay logged in.
- Vinted is the most aggressive; expect to reconnect more often, especially if you clear cookies or use a VPN that moves you between countries.
- eBay and Discogs OAuth tokens refresh themselves and rarely need attention.
Things that end a session connection immediately: logging out of the marketplace, changing your marketplace password, clearing browser cookies, and using a different browser profile.
Disconnecting
Press Disconnect. The stored credential is deleted immediately.
Disconnecting does not touch your listings on that marketplace and does not delete your Reskale history. It stops syncing and stops any automation from acting there. See deleting your data for removing the records too.
Next
Import your listings so Reskale knows what you already sell.
