Running your store

Live shows

Run a live selling session with inventory, overlays and sale capture.

Run a live selling session with your inventory, an overlay for viewers, and sales captured as they happen.

Live (open).

Live is behind a feature flag and may not appear in your sidebar. If it is not there, it is not enabled for your account yet.

The model: console, not broadcaster

Reskale does not stream. You stream natively on each platform — Whatnot, TikTok, Instagram, wherever you already sell live — using their own app.

This is not a shortcut. The platforms that matter for live selling block third-party streaming at the protocol level; there is no sanctioned way for outside software to push a broadcast into them. A tool that claimed otherwise would be either broken or against their terms.

So Reskale is the operator console running alongside your stream: your inventory, the item currently featured, an overlay for viewers, and sales recorded as you make them.

Running a show

  1. Create a show. Name it and add the items you plan to sell.
  2. Start streaming on your platform, natively.
  3. Feature items from the console as you present them. The overlay updates.
  4. Record sales as they happen.
  5. End the show.

The overlay

Each show gets an overlay page with its own URL. Add it as a browser source in OBS, Streamlabs or whatever you broadcast with, and viewers see the current item, its price, and details.

The URL contains a long unguessable token. That token is the authentication — anyone with the link can view the overlay, which is what makes it usable as a browser source without logging your streaming software into your account.

Treat it accordingly: it is safe to put in OBS, not safe to post publicly.

Inventory during a show

Items in a show come from your Inventory, so what you sell live is the same record as what is listed elsewhere.

That matters for the same reason it matters everywhere else: an item sold live is still live on four marketplaces until something takes it down. Run Auto-Delist after a show.

Sales

Sales recorded during a show land in Sales and flow through to Bookkeeping like any other sale.

Current limits

Being straight about where this stands:

  • Sale detection is manual. You record sales; Reskale does not read them off the platform's chat or checkout.
  • No chat integration. Comments and bids stay on the platform.
  • No native streaming. By design, per the protocol constraint above.

Live is a first version. It is useful as a console; it is not yet an automated live-selling system.

Practical advice

  • Prepare the item list before you go live. Building it on air is dead air.
  • Test the overlay first — add the browser source and confirm it renders before an audience is watching.
  • Delist after every show, not weekly. The gap between a live sale and the cleanup is exactly when someone buys the copy on eBay.
